Cycling shoes and helmet recommendations

Hi everyone! I’m looking to upgrade my cycling gear and would love your advice on road cycling shoes and a helmet. I ride a trekking bike, mostly on pavement — commuting during the week and longer rides on weekends. Also, I’m considering switching to clipless pedals that go with cycling shoes. Is it worth it?
