Hey bulgers, the long awaited Dating Page update is now through! the main goal for this update was to make it easier to connect with other bulgers. the core of this is the dating page, that was complicated to use with the 'actives' and 'online members' grouping. now it's all merged together, along with more filtering possibility. in numbers this means: you now can browse through 30k+ users on the site! on the HOME page: - have a more changing and relevant start page with the online users with latest activity on the DATING page: - merged 'actives' and 'online members' together, resulting in a new 'online only' filter - able to sort by 'distance' (to you, up to a 100km radius)¹ - new filters: cock size, body type, height, cut¹ - discover users around you that are now better visible (thanks to the approximation implementation) ¹) To offer more value to Premium users and make the upgrade more worthwhile, Premium users will have full access to these features without any limits. Non-Premium users can still use them, with filtering available for up to a certain amount. Let me know what you think. Cheers and keep bulging!

Great job Simon! It's amazing what you do for us and to improve the site! The only question I have: In the Dating section there is Discover users near X at the top... I know it's not easy to create, but it shows profiles that were last active 10 years ago etc... So apparently inactive profiles... Wouldn't it be possible to show profiles that are more or less active? For example, profiles that were last active?

Yes, definitely doable. on top of that, if we let these inactive accounts know that they got messages/likes/profile visits, I think most of them could get back on the site and find it better than ever. I think that could be a great thing! and another idea for that row: this would also go greatly with the visiting mode where you can say when you'll be where and then it'll show those at the beginning with a "Visitor" badge on it?!

I like the revamp of that page. Thanks for the update, Simon! One piece of feedback: in the top list ("Discover users near [city]"), I clicked on two recommendations, and I got two profiles of guys who have not been active for 3 and 6 years, respectively. Is that how it is supposed to be? Or is that "local" list meant to recommend active users only?

id like to be able to type in my zip code and see whos near by by radius ..... this site used to have that feature see whos nearby by radius of your city

Would also love to see a filter category for Gay/Bi/Straight, etc. As well as the ability to filter profiles that haven't been online in a certain period of time

try using order by distance: https://spandexparty.com/dating/users?sort=distance it will show you users nearest to your selected location (as set in your profile). even if you're not a premium user, you can still use this. the list is truncated for non-premium users, but there's a workaround: apply different filters to refresh the results and get access to more profiles. it's a bit of a hack, but it works. that said, premium is a quality-of-life upgrade—so hopefully a few folks will consider it as well.

the more I think and hear about this, I'm positive this should be more prominent. for instance right next to the first filter as a "🔎" icon along with the search input 🤔

could be a fun filter, too. gotta check if the dataset is making sense. for instance, if everybody has set their profile to bi, the results are underwhelming from a search point of view

the list is ordered by Last Online by default. if you want to check on users that haven't been on in a week, you can use the pagination at the bottom. hint: we hard-cap the pagination at page 10 so the userbase 1) can't be scraped/copied easily by malicious others and 3) to see that the server can keep up with the amount of different requests.

the big update broke the logged-out page with a "500 Internal Server Error". 🙈 it's been fixed now and people should be able to login again. sorry for that!

I don't want to list the same users in "Discover users near [city]" as well as in the online list down below. I'll tweak the parameters so more active users come up in there as well. I'd like to sprinkle and keep the more inactive users in there, too. so we might be able to get their attention with notifications (that could come next week) if someone showed interest in their profile.

Great changes! I second the suggestion of changing the name from "Dating" to something else Straight men as well as men who are partnered and aren't looking for dating may not want to use a feature called "Dating"
