WHAT TO EXPECT Get ready for a day-long street takeover like no other. The Folsom Street Fair transforms San Francisco's South of Market (SoMA) district into the world's largest leather, kink, and alt-sex street fair a celebration of radical self-expression, consent culture, and community like nothing else. HIGHLIGHTS - The Heart of the Leather Scene Held on Folsom Street (between 7th and 13th Streets in SoMA), this fair draws up to 250,000–400,000 visitors annually making it one of California's largest single-day outdoor events. - Streetwide Celebration of Kink & Culture It's a wild mix of fetish fashion, BDSM demonstrations, alternative art, live music, food, vendors, and drag; all wrapped into a body-positive, pro-consent environment. - Charity in Action Organized by the non-profit Folsom Street Events, every penny from gate donations, beverage booths, and fundraising activities goes to local charities in public health, human services, and the arts including organizations like the Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence. - Multiple Picks for Every Taste Expect performance stages, bars, immersive art, adult-only zones, The Playground (a welcoming space for women, trans, and non-binary folks), and even cheeky booths (spanking for donations, exhibitionist installations, etc.). - Part of Leather Pride Week Folsom Street Fair officially closes out San Francisco's Leather Pride Week capping off a weekend full of related parties, community gatherings, and nightlife. WHY YOU SHOULD GO Folsom Street Fair is legendary the kind of event where you can dress as naked or as fabulous as you like, meet your tribe, and feel fully accepted. Whether you come to dance, watch, play, or just soak it all in, it's a one-of-a-kind celebration of freedom, identity, and consent.

Honestly the SF Folsom doesn’t really have a big spandex crowd. (At least I can never find them) It’s heavy leather and jockstraps, you’ll see a few guys in rubber gear. Last month was Dore Alley, I went to a party called Sneaks. That was the first time I had seen so many guys in singlets. But that was at a sports wear themed party. Hoping to see more guys in spandex gear and thongs.

I've been to the Folsom Street Fair 15 - 20 times and it's a right of passage for most gay people in San Francisco. Keep in mind that this is a fetish fair and not an exclusively leather event so you can see a lot of wild stuff on the streets. I believe that this is one of three days where public nudity is allowed in the city. I'm taking a "straight/curious" friend this year to watch his head explode. (wink) The parties before and after the fair are legendary. If you come, try to hit one or two of them. It may be easier to wear spandex at those events. While I've gone buttless in chaps before, I now just go in shorts and wear something spandex under the shorts. I occasionally see someone in spandex, but it's rare. Bottom line, wear what you feel comfortable in. Don't feel intimidated because you don't have leather or some cool new spandex, just come and have a good time. My advice for first timers is to get there when it opens at 11 am. You can watch the crowds come in and walk around to the vendors. At around 2, it's wall to wall people. If you don't feel comfortable asking questions on this thread, please feel free to send me a private message about the fair and San Francisco in general. Nothing can shock me. https://www.folsomstreet.org/folsom-street-fair
