I was hanging out with a straight friend the other day (I'm mostly straight but like to explore with guys occasionally). We were having a few drinks in my garage and playing darts. I was wearing basketball shorts with shiny under armour shorts under them. Towards the end of the night I sat down and my basketball shorts slid up a bit, revealing my shiny shorts. My buddy looked over and saw them and his eyes got big then he looked away quick. I noticed that my shiny shorts were showing and his reaction, so I left them they way they were and noticed he kept glancing over at them. I was kinda turned on with the idea of him liking the view. I'd be interested in playing with him, but I'm not totally sure if he's really into it. Anyone have any advice on what I could do?

This is good advice! My take would be, open his mind to the kink, and maybe the rest will follow... maybe leave your spare lycra gear at his place "by mistake", perhaps let him see you browsing this site (definitely not on purpose :D ), or make up some totally bogus story like "my cousin sent me these lycra shorts but he got the wrong size, do you want them?" If he's into the shiny, that's a big first step...
Earlier in the night I peaked on his phone as he was scrolling through Instagram and saw a picture of a woman in spandex and I almost made a comment that I have an outfit like that laughing. Maybe next time if that happens I will make a little comment.

if you have a wrestling singlet, wear it under some shorter shorts and t shirt... if u get hot n sweatty just take the t shirt off reveal the singlet top part.... if he ask anything say ya it keeps me dry and from chaffing.

I had a similar experience with a straight friend years ago. After I noticed him staring at my Lycra shorts showing from under my gym shorts I would wear different Lycra shorts under the shorts each time we were together, making sure that they were more visible each time. Eventually I only wore the Lycra shorts with no other shorts to cover them and it was then that his interest really grew… along with his bulge (and mine).

My advice would also be, to let him make the first move."offer" him some good views by wearing your best lycra and give me some space to react.
There is a guy, who is a friend of a friend and I once met them, when I was wearing cycling gear. The guy really didn't know where to look at🤣 the next time we met i was wearing a different gear and he startet to ask me stuff about cycling and the proper clothing. And another time I met with my friends, I was there by car because I needed to bring stuff and he said, that he was sad that i didn't take the bike😅 so next time ill be there in my cycling gear again

You've got some good advice from the others. Here's what I would do...
Tell him you have a two for one coupon for shiny shorts, but you will only need one pair. Would he like the other one? If he says yes, tell him that the sizing is tricky and he should try on your pair to make sure they are a good fit. I wouldn't be wearing them at the time because you don't want him to find an excuse to not try them on. After he tries them on, you could ask to check the waist band and legs to make sure they are not too tight. If he is a bit fluffy, that's probably your signal that you can take this further. Once you are touching the waist and legs to "check the fit", ask him if there is anywhere else that you should check. If he recoils, you can just laugh it off as a joke.
I've found with guys who are mostly straight, alcohol tends to help them rationalize touching another man. They can say to themselves that they didn't really know what they were doing because they were tipsy...even if it was only two beers. (We call this a six pack gay.)
