Liquid people run themselves with in gear

Hey. I’ve seen some vids of guys putting what looks like lube on themselves in gear and rubbing around. I’m hesitant to put lube all over me? (I’m assuming it’s water based) I don’t want to harm the gear and lube is expensive but it looks fucking hot. Wondering if it’s something else.

Water based lube would be fine.  If it's thicker and very stringy, it could be j-lube or x-lube (used for toy play and fisting). Or if it's just thick, could be gunge if it's bright coloured (some pics of that on my profile). Just don't use baby oil.  It destroys lycra causing it to lose all it's elasticity.
