I first became aware of spandex I think when I saw Power Rangers. I didn't even watch the show, but I just thought the costumes looked really cool. Eventually I saw Tobey Maguire's Spiderman when I was like 10 and Spiderman 3 came out when I was around 14 which was when he had the black symbiote suit and Venom, which I still think is pretty hot.
A couple years before that though, in middle school I started watching track and field on TV during the Olympis or whenever I could. I loved the look of the skinsuits and really wanted to have one. The same goes for cycling, wrestling, and football.
The first time I can actually remember wearing spandex was when I was helping do laundry and I found my older brother's highschool football pants in the dryer. Later, when I was by myself, I put them on and felt myself up. They were far too big, but I got rock hard immediately.
Once in high school I joined the football team myself, so I got to wear lycra on a pretty regular basis, but playing the sport doesn't let you focus on how good it feels. I quit the team early on because I got a season ending injury which really sucked.
Later on that year I joined the indoor track team and my parents bought me my first spandex that I owned. I got a really thin black pair of Nike Pro compression shorts and a really shiny navy blue pair of Hind compression shorts which I still have today (albeit, very worn out). I would wear them to bed, layer them, and wear them to school as underwear which gave me a pretty good rush at the time. I ran track for the rest of my high school career, because I was good and it allowed me to wear spandex almost all the time.
Since then I've stepped up to zentais and wrestling singlets and cycling skinsuits and countless other pairs of compression shorts. And that's that.
