preview pics

When we upload our photos would it be possible to edit the position of the preview pic that is show in our profile and in the new pics section, as sometimes when I upload stuff it often miss out the best part in the photo to tempt guys to view it, otherwise they will miss out if they see nothing there.

Excellent suggestion. At a minimum, the ability to select the center point for the preview.

I was thinking the same thing- years ago, we could crop the picture (or change the position) so we could get the best part. Now, it's hard to say what will show.

Do you guys have a few example pics I can look at? or via DM? right now, the uploader decides what the preview image focuses at by looking at the "busy parts" of the full picture, e.g. textures and edges. this is called entropy cropping and is pretty standard. so maybe we can switch away from the entropy strategy to a different one that solves this issue better. of course, being able to put the preview focus manually would be the ultimate solution, but also takes more time 😅
