Always overpriced, always shipped late, and always a disappointment in quality. I do not see how they get such big buff models on their website into such feebly constructed clothing. I just paid $174 for a suit and it came with 2 holes in it. I could see it without even trying it on. I cant believe they dont even look at their stuff. I bought some chaps and a vest from them in 2005. They actually were of decent quality. I think they've dropped the ball or have gone downhill in quality since then and their prices have skyrocketed. The delivery time was very slow/late and the product quality is really really poor compared to the exorbitant price. Shop somewhere other than slick it up. The stuff looks great on the website, but it is obviously custom made for their photo shoots, and nothing more.

I have bought and used many Slick It Up items. (Just check out my profile to confirm) I was discouraged to read this, as at the very least the first few posts seem like it a personal attack, rather than a real criticism of the site, its products or the customer service. It seems mainly to be a criticism of the owner. My experience with the brand has been completely different. First of all I think it's harder to find better, sexier, more innovative designs just about anywhere on the net. Second, I've always found customer service to be extremely helpful, prompt in their response, and always willing to take care of a problem. Yes I did have a problem with one order and they took care of it within days. Third, yes it's expensive. But it's a small company, they produce everything in New York, using some pretty talented seamstresses, and you can't really compare it to Under Armor or Nike who are able to produce in China for a third the price. And lastly, yes some of the aims are delicate. I'm not a fashion designer, I don't really understand fashion either but I do get that when you're dealing with very fine material that you have to take care of it. I wouldn't throw my Slick It Up stuff in the washing machine with a bunch of other crap, Toss it in the dryer and expect to come out fine. I follow instructions, I hand wash it in Woolite for darks and I line dry ‘em. Not everything that they do is perfect. In fact some of is just not my taste, but this guy has put his neck out to create a brand that appeals to a very small segment of the population and came up with ways of designing and implementing some pretty fucking hot gear. Quite frankly this feels like SIU getting a bad rap for no reason. For the record. I have in fact met the owner, I don't get anything free from the company, he probably wouldn't recognize me on the street if he saw me, so I think it doesn't really qualify as a conflict of interest, But for fairness I thought I'd mention it. If you don't like it or you don't like the guy by all means don't buy it, but please don't trash somebody who is running a small business. The criticism of a company is fair game, but you lose your credibility when you call the owner a douche bag. Also and I mean no offense by this, but to spend all that time creating a blog trashing some guy working out of his apartment in New York? Imagine the good in the world you could create using that same time to support something you feel passionate about. Go fundraise for an LGBT organization, Hell I don't care become a climate change deniaiist and spend your time and bringing attention to that, just be careful what you say about people and their businesses. There're many of us that are very happy with the company, Thrilled with the work they produce, and grateful that there's an outlet that sells the a slutty shit that I like to wear.

Wow... The fact that someone took the time to write a blog trashing a great site is a shame. But this is what the world is coming to
