Spandex Party Roadmap - Q4 2026

Hey guys, I want to share what we're working on for Q4 and give you a clear idea of where Spandex Party is heading over the next few months. We've made a lot of progress over the past year, and I'm really happy with how much of our Q3 roadmap we managed to deliver. For Q4, we'll continue improving messaging, make it easier to connect with members who share your interests or are nearby, and bring some new additions to the shop. And yes, we're also working towards releasing a mobile app alpha for the community! A big thank you to everyone who contributed to the community feedback thread. Your suggestions have helped shape this roadmap, especially the smaller improvements and fixes below. ——— THE BIG FEATURES Mobile App Alpha One of our main goals for Q4 is to bring an early Spandex Party app to the community, initially focused on messaging, with profile discovery potentially following. We'll work on making the alpha stable and useful enough for community members to start testing it, getting the essentials right and learning from your feedback. We also need to be careful about what we include and how we present it. With our content, meeting Apple's App Store and Google Play requirements needs particular attention. We want to get this right before release - otherwise, "Spandex" turns into "SpandEXIT". Interests & Discovery We're working on a new Interests feature to help you express what you're into and connect with members who share your interests. This goes hand in hand with the categories we already have. Over the past 20 years, we've accumulated a lot of categories, including some that overlap or duplicate each other. It's become harder to navigate, and there's plenty of room to make it clearer and more useful. The idea is to make it easier to find your tribe, show which interests you belong to, and discover other members within those interests. We'd also like to bring location and travel into that experience, helping you connect with members in a city you're planning to visit, or with people coming to yours. Shared interests, nearby members and travel plans should come together to help you find people you'd actually like to connect with. Messaging & Social We want conversations to feel faster and more responsive, with new messages arriving instantly and chatting feeling much smoother; all due to an upgraded messaging system. Alongside that work, we'll improve some of the everyday interactions around comments, likes and notifications. New Shop Additions For the Spandex Party Shop, we're planning: - One completely new style. - New color options for some existing styles. ——— QUALITY-OF-LIFE IMPROVEMENTS & BUGFIXES Alongside the bigger features, we want to address these issues and requests from the community: Photos & mobile browsing - Prevent accidental jumps to the next or previous photo while zooming and moving around an image on mobile. - Make the photo like button easier to reach on mobile. - Check that the issue showing the wrong username or profile picture when opening your own photo from a notification has been fully resolved. Messaging & notifications - Fix unread-message indicators when there is no unread message you can find. - Make forum notifications take you directly to the relevant post. - Add notifications when someone likes your comment. Social interaction - Let you see who liked a photo or comment by tapping the like count. - Bring back the ability to see which members you follow are online. - Add the ability to tag other members in posts. Privacy - Make photos and links shared in the forum visible only to logged-in members. ——— WHAT ABOUT THE OTHER SUGGESTIONS? There were plenty of good ideas in the feedback thread that haven't made it into this Q4 roadmap. Some may fit into the new Interests feature, while others need more thought or will have to wait for a later quarter. We can't fit everything into the next few months, but your feedback remains valuable for future planning. These are our goals for Q4.
