Travel Mode: Discussion & Suggestions

I heard from many, me included, that they like to see who's planning a trip to my city or near me.
These "travelers" would show up more prominently so more connections, on- or offline, could happen. I think that would be a really great addition to Spandex Party.
I saw sites that made this really hard to use.
Do you know any apps or websites, that make this an ease to use?
