Aussie Spandex Event - Your Thoughts Needed

Hey guys, starting a new thread to keep things organised. We're working to put together a spandex-focused gear event downunder, and we need your opinions on what you would like to see happen. I've put together a short anonymous survey that will help guide planning of the event, to make sure that we create something everyone can enjoy. A big thank you to everyone who took part in the poll! We had a solid number of people share their thoughts which is fantastic, thanks guys.  As for results, we have a few clear findings: 1. Most people would be able to attend and event in Victoria/Melbourne.  2. Everyone wants a mix of sex and social aspects. 3. Nearly everyone prefers a totally private event with no public visibility.  4. An even split of people want either a daytime only event, or an overnight event. This could easily be achieved by having two tickets available, one for the day and one for overnight. (Overnight would be more expensive natually) 5. Everyone would wear different gear, so it would be an event open to any spandex type.  Here's the issue. Creating an overnight event, in a totally private space for the number of people who are likely to attend, in a convenient Melbourne location will not be cheap.  Most people would prefer to spend less than 100$ on attending the event. I've done some research, and given the rates for overnight property / venue hire (to guarantee privacy and provide accommodation for those staying overnight), the expected income from tickets won't come close to covering the venue hire.  Unfortunately, unless a suitable space can be found / donated / rented at a big discount, a local spandex-only event like this isn't going to be financially viable.  Sorry lads. If anyone knows of a potential solution please DM me, I'm open to ideas.

Thanks for the update Commo and yeah it’s really difficult to find a decent price and location, however I will look at options with local town halls and community centres and see what figures, also what are the current numbers looking like just to get an idea on space etc? Cheers

For sure. The Laird hotel does host events but Lycra and speedos are maybe once a month. I am sure there must be a way of meeting. I would imagine having a meet after the parkrun at Albert Park. Maybe someone has a place that is close by and conducive to whatever in spandex?
