Fitness and Gear

I just recently competed in a triathlon event last weekend. From training to competition, I gear up in a wetsuit and trisuit, and it feels good to be in gear for a functional purpose. I got a great pic of me in action, see profile. Spandex has always been an active material, and its nice to model it as such. I want this thread to be a space for people to share how gear has affected their fitness, share gym-fits, discuss activities that encourage spandex, and share what you would want to start wearing when working out.

My sports, swimming first and later running and then going to the gym were what introduced me to spandex and other things I found turned me on, and getting to see other guys wearing those things. Thinking and hoping at first that they felt like me about the gear. Being increasingly disappointed as time went along, finding out how few guys really got turned on by it in the way that I did. Guys being interested in me, sometimes liking how I looked in what I was wearing, but really not truly being interested in it. Wanting it off ASAP to play, not wanting to keep it on and play in it like I wanted to. It was always rare & hard to find other guys into it. Why I appreciate this site and the guys on here. They at least get it, even if they're too far away to play. Sports was always a legit reason for me to wear spandex stuff before I got the confidence to just wear it casually.

I went to Planet Fitness for about seven years. For the entire time I was there I never saw any other guys wearing spandex of any kind. I always wore either spandex shorts or leggings. I was always amazed at what other guys would wear. I’ve seen everything from Carhardt bib overalls to collared shirts and ties. Lots of things like polo shirts and vests as well. I don’t get it. Seems awfully uncomfortable to me.

Those things would kill my boner like a kick in the balls 🤣🤣🤣

Honestly I think I’ve been the only guy that I’ve seen wear tights to the Gym.  I’ve been going to planet fitness for years too and I tried starting a trend but no luck.  To be honest only maybe a handful qualify to wear it so that’s another drawback.

Have recently started wearing wrestling singlets, leggings, yoga/bike shorts, compression shorts to gym for workouts. Often with long tank tops for a bit of modesty. Very self conscious at start and still am. Love working out in them and with added benefit of showing off my shape and gym gains. Rare to see another guy in anything other than loose gym/footy shorts or track pants. It’s accepted for females to wear form fitting clothes. So why can’t it be same for guys !!!

It's always good to wear gear when you're exercising in some way.  Helps with motivation

For about two years now I have been wearing amoresy suits for hiking, and even though it was originally for half voyeuristic reasons half tick and sun protection, it has evolved to be just the normal thing I wear for it. It has definitely also been a motivation to get out hiking more, it feels so very nice to be out in the woods in just a suit and hiking boots. Of course, I still have fantasies about meeting someone on the path wearing something similar, and the both of us getting up to some fun things, but most of the time it's just the comfy thing to wear for that activity🌲.

I always felt way to insecure to wear spandex/lycra in public. And i was always insecure about my body. i still don't like to be completely naked or go swimming or with an naked upper body  in public. But when i startet to go cycling i felt so fucking good in my cycling gear, i cant even describe. I love cycling and startet to do workout at home in lycra and go running to increase my Fitness for bigger cycling tours. I am still skinny, but i feel so well in body from doing sports,  that i truly can say, that i like my self and how i look in cycling gear or running tights. Lycra gear makes me feel so good, a second skin that fits me so well. And of course this community fits me well😘 so thank you 😘

I feel my best when I’m lifting in tight gear. Even if it’s just a compression shirt.
