For me, I know my package looks better when wearing one. Especially in the gear I like to wear. I also tend to only wear them while the gear is/stays on. Once the gear comes off usually the cocking does as well.

I find that with steel rings the size is very critical. If just too large my balls pop through if wearing tight trousers and am active

I always wear a cockring, it makes my package bigger as it stops the balls wandering all over the place which is also more comfy, so I don't need a jockstrap to bunch things up (but when I need to, I prefer a g-string because there's no ugly pantylines and I love the thong rubbing on my bunghole - and it can be useful to keep a buttplug in whenever I go out plugged).
